Thirumagal Gowrikanthan

Thirumagal Gowrikanthan (she/her/hers) is a 4th year undergraduate student at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, pursuing an Honours Bachelor in Science degree and a Certificate in Science Communication. Her passion lies in making significant contributions to the scientific community while addressing critical healthcare needs. During her time as a CARE scholar, Thirumagal sees this program as a place where her passion meets opportunity—a chance to learn from experts, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and make a significant impact in Asian health research and advocacy. Thirumagal envisions herself as a future physician who delivers a holistic experience to her patients by integrating cutting-edge research with compassionate care. In her free time, Thirumagal enjoys playing sports, watching movies, and travelling around the world.
