Matt Calumpit

Matt is a rising 3rd year undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania studying Neuroscience. Originally from Hawaii, Matt's interest in Asian American health stems from his time doing Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) research. Being raised in Hawaii’s unique population group, Matt’s interest in working with these populations stem from his experience as a nursing volunteer and as a tutor for students K-12 in his hometown. Matt’s inspiration to continue Asian health research also stems from his experience as a member of Penn’s Medical Emergency Response Team where he currently serves as an EMT for the University City area. As a CARE Scholar, he hopes to continue Asian health research far from home. In his freetime, Matt enjoys powerlifting, where he hopes to one day compete!
