Kavenpreet Bal
Kavenpreet Bal recently graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Political Science. During his undergraduate studies, he gained extensive research experience in trying to reduce the onset of cardiomyopathy as a byproduct of anthracycline metabolism in chemotherapeutic patients. He aspires to get his Masters in either Epidemiology or Global Health, through which he can dissect the social, genetic, and environmental factors that make Indian subpopulations more susceptible to non-communicable diseases; he aspires to combat health illiteracy, inequitable policies, and cultural stigma surrounding mental health through research-based health intervention and policy advocacy. In the future, he seeks to integrate his interests in medicine, research, global health, and policy into a career.
