Karen Kun Li

Ms. Karen Kun Li is a Silicon Valley–based angel investor for high-tech startups, a community volunteer, and an environmentalist. In her early philanthropy work, she served as the Deputy Secretary General of Friends of China for The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the world’s leading conservation organization with over one million members. Most recently, she was involved with Palo Alto Partners in Education (PiE), supporting Palo Alto schools both financially and as a volunteer.

A graduate of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Kun kicked off her broadcast journalism career with China Central Television and held various professional and management positions as editor, anchor, reporter, and producer of television programs during her 16-year tenure there. Ms. Li was the anchor of the weekly English-language magazine program China Today. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Securities Time, which, at the time, was the only business news program in China broadcasting live during trading hours. Ms. Li was also the producer of China Financial Review and Biz China. With her broadcast journalism background, Ms. Li hopes to advocate for Stanford CARE’s mission to millions of people in Asia.
