David Yang, MD, MHS
Dr. David Yang is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Associate Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Research in the Section of EMS at Yale University. He graduated with an MD from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and an MHS from Yale University. He graduated from Yale's emergency medicine residency, research fellowship and EMS fellowship.
His research interests focus on the Asian American experience in 1) healthcare and 2) the emergency care setting. He conducted the first national study examining the experiences of Asian American medical students with racism during COVID-19 (10.1001/jamanetworkopen.2023.33067). He is currently the American Board of Medical Specialties' Visiting Scholar through the American Board of Emergency Medicine to look at discrimination of Asian American emergency medicine residents. In the emergency care setting, he is primarily interested in understanding the variability in experience in cardiac arrest and stroke in a disaggregated Asian American population.
