Chak Yin Kwan

Chak Yin, a second-year Dietetics student at London Metropolitan University, brings a distinctive viewpoint shaped by her dual-cultural heritage from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Drawing from familial experiences, research pursuits, and active involvement with NHS England, she has firsthand knowledge of the healthcare challenges encountered by diverse Asian communities. This exposure fuels her dedication to rectifying healthcare disparities, as she acknowledges not only the differences between Asian and Caucasian populations but also the heterogeneity within Asian subgroups, which is often overlooked in healthcare protocols tailored primarily to the Caucasian population. Beyond her academic pursuits, Chak Yin finds solace in cooking, watching musicals, and practicing pilates and meditation, which provide balance amidst her busy schedule.
